The existing Rancho Bridge in Cuenca, Batangas is a single span, 2-lane, regular steel truss bridge with a span of about 44m and a road width of about 6m. The superstructure is made of a steel truss with a reinforced concrete deck slab resting on steel stringers. The abutments are wall-type pier substructures with spread footings.

The existing bridge was originally designed only for H15 truck loadings and was required to be upgraded to carry HS20 truck loads by DPWH.

ACO performed the detailed engineering design for the project, which includes structural assessment and retrofitting design using Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composite materials.
