The project involves the rehabilitation of 4 overpasses spanning across the North Luzon Expressway that is operated by Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC). The overpasses include:

  • Lias Overpass - a 2 span, 2 lane bridges constructed using cast in place concrete deck on structural steel girders with reinforced concrete substructures.
  • Taal Overpass - a 2 span, 2 lane bridges constructed using cast in place concrete deck on structural steel girders with reinforced concrete substructures.
  • Tabe II Overpass - a 4 span, 2 lane bridge constructed with a reinforced concrete deck and girders, and substructure.
  • Duhat Overpass - a 2 span, 2 lane bridges constructed using cast in place concrete deck on structural steel girders with reinforced concrete substructures.

Repair and strengthening of the existing damaged concrete deck slabs and substructures were performed by applying epoxy pressure injection and carbon fiber-reinforced polymer. It also includes the installation of restrainers and tie rods as part of the seismic upgrading of the bridges.

ACO Performed the detailed structural assessment and detailed engineering design for the rehabilitation project.
